TDOR

Trans Day of Remembrance & Resilience

Each year between November 13 – 19, people and organizations around the
country participate in Transgender Awareness Week to help increase
understanding about transgender people and the issues members of the
community face.

Trans Awareness month culminates with Transgender Day of Remembrance & Resilience (TDOR).  TDOR is an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence and also to celebrate the resilience of a community that continues to advocate for the human rights of all trans and nonbinary individuals.
On 11/20/24 from 9 am to 5 pm, please visit the Summit Room in the Cascade Learning Resource Center to gather, honor, and remember those who are no longer with us, as well as find resources and community.
The library has also created a virtual display of books Links to an external site. from our collection that highlight the experiences of transgendered people, their history of activism, and resources for personal / community care.  There is also a physical display of selected works in the Cynthia Clarke reading room, alongside pronoun buttons and stickers.
