This is the boring, but important information that will help you have the best possible experience with Canvas. Canvas is a web-based software, so you will need the internet and a web browser to access it.

Computer Requirements

For best performance, Canvas should be used on the current major release of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari. Because it's built using web standards, Canvas runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, or any other device with a modern web browser.

Canvas only requires an operating system that can run the latest compatible web browsers. Your computer operating system should be kept up to date with the latest recommended security updates and upgrades.

For the latest information on the basic computer and web browser specs that help you have the best experience in Canvas possible, please read: What are the basic computer specifications for Canvas?

It may be tempting to only use your phone for your classes in Canvas, however, you will need a computer, Chromebook, or a laptop for the best experience. See the Hardware page for borrowing a Chromebook from EvCC.
